Four Weeks Before You Move

Sort your condition report

Pull out the ingoing condition report you signed at the start of the tenancy. This is the single most important document. Your obligation under the NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010 is to return the property to the same condition, accounting for fair wear and tear.

Book your end of lease clean early

North Shore cleaning teams fill up fast, especially at month ends and peak moving seasons (January, late June). Booking 2–3 weeks in advance is strongly recommended.

Assess what needs repair

Chatswood and Artarmon: Higher density apartments mean body corporate rules may apply. Confirm with your agent what you are responsible for (balcony, lobby, letterbox area).

Pymble, Gordon and St Ives: Large houses on leafy blocks often include garages, alfresco areas and multiple outdoor zones. These are your responsibility and are often missed.

Wahroonga and Turramurra: Heritage and character homes may have older fixtures, timber floors and ornate cornices that need careful cleaning without damage.
